CEO Group Sponsors Route 422 Discussion In Malvern

MALVERN PA – Area business owners and executives, as well as members of the public, who have questions or concerns about the future of U.S. Route 422 may want to attend a briefing on the highway sponsored by the CEO Council for Growth and scheduled to be held July 13 (2011; Wednesday) from 8-10 a.m. at the Desmond Hotel, One Liberty Blvd., Malvern PA.

The session will be presented by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and will cover “the recently released study that examines the feasibility of raising revenue through tolling to pay for roadway improvements along … 422, and the re-introduction of commuter rail from Norristown to Reading PA.” Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m.; the presentation will take place from 8:30-9:30 a.m., followed by a question and answer period from 9:30-10 a.m.

    Interesting that they have this in Malvern, where 422 is not and few if any people there use 422 for commuting. Why not have this up here in Pottstown, where the majority of the commuters are located. These meetings need to be held where the people impacted live.

    Now, let’s troll 202; that way the Malvern folks won’t feel left out …

      I wouldn’t put too much stock into the location of this meeting, Ed. It’s being conducted by and for a specialty group, the chief executive officers of companies in the 422 corridor and elsewhere. They just happen to be meeting at a swanky hotel in Malvern. And to be honest, several meetings about 422 have been held in the greater Pottstown neck of the woods.
