PHILADELPHIA PA – Comcast Corporation – which supplies entertainment, information and communications products and services to communities across western Montgomery County PA – said Wednesday (April 11, 2012) it was being honored for a sixth consecutive year as one of the top 10 U.S. corporations for doing business with companies owned by military veterans.

The National Veteran-Owned Business Association, which recognizes large corporations that most successfully engage the nation’s three million veteran-owned businesses as suppliers, claimed Comcast was among “the best in the U.S. at recognizing how well the military prepares business leaders through teaching leadership, teamwork, resolve, integrity and ingenuity.”

Comcast and its NBCUniversal affiliate last month pledged to hire 1,000 U.S. veterans during the next three years as part of NBC News’ “Hiring Our Heroes” initiative, in which the network has partnered with United States Chamber of Commerce to help get veterans back to work.

Other top 10 companies similarly honored by the association were include Booz Allen Hamilton, DynCorp International, Johnson & Johnson, Life Technologies, Lockheed Martin, Mack Trucks Inc., Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Rockwell Collins Inc., and SAIC.
