Valley Forge Casino Attracted $4M During First Month

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – The Valley Forge Casino Resort in nearby King of Prussia brought in more than $4 million during April 2012, its first month of operation, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Wednesday (May 2) as part of its monthly report on gross operating revenues at the state’s 11 casinos.

The Valley Forge operation grossed $4,032,516.86, according to board figures.

Overall, the board added, slot machine revenue in April was $214.1 million, 1.3 percent higher than revenue produced during the same month last year. Tax revenue generated for the state from slots play during April was $116,018,221, it said.

The April report includes the first full month of revenue from Valley Forge, which officially opened for business March 31. Without its revenue figures, and comparing just the 10 casinos open in both April 2011 and 2012, overall slots revenue fell slightly – by 0.6 percent – according to the state. The April 2011 figures included five Fridays and Saturdays, while the 2012 figures had only four each of those highest revenue-producing days.

The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania at the 11 casinos was 26,760 in April 2012, compared to 26,516 in April 2011.

The board oversees all aspects of the state’s casino industry.
