HARRISBURG PA – Small business owners in western Montgomery County are among those able to compete for two $5,000 scholarships being made available by the Team Pennsylvania Foundation for firms to participate with Gov. Tom Corbett’s Jobs First mission to Brazil and Chile during April 2013.

Qualifying small businesses interested in applying for a scholarship can obtain an application at the foundation website, here. Other businesses looking to open the door to new markets also can apply there to participate in the trip. The foundation funded Corbett’s first mission to France and Germany in March 2012 at no cost to taxpayers, and is also funding the mission to South America.

Among the qualifications, interested Pennsylvania companies must:

  • Be in good standing with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue;
  • Ensure their federal employer identification number is linked to a Pennsylvania mailing address;
  • Have no more than 250 full-time employees at time of application;
  • Have been in business for at least 3 years

The application must be submitted by Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2013) and will be judged by the members of the state’s International Business Advisory Board.
