Area Kohl's Stores Help Make CHOP Donation Possible

Officials of Kohl’s and  Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia joined in Thursday’s gift presentation

ROYERSFORD PA – Kohl’s Cares, a donation program of the Kohl’s department store chain that operates in Royersford and Pottstown, donated $620,436 to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to support the hospital’s injury prevention efforts, the company announced Thursday (Dec. 13, 2012).

This year’s Kohl’s grant helps fund the hospital’s car seat distribution program, Mobile Safety Center, car seat safety checks, and advertising programs and educational materials in the Philadelphia region.  The grant also supports injury prevention programs with community partners. Since 2000, Kohl’s has donated more than $6.3 million to the hospital through Kohl’s Cares.

Injuries are the leading cause of death and disability to children in the United States. The hospital’s Injury Prevention Program offers expert online information and resources, local safety events in the greater Philadelphia area, community car seat inspection stations, and a mobile safety center offering child safety products such as car seats, bike helmets and home safety products at low prices. In addition, health educators provide free injury prevention information.

Kohl’s Pottstown store is located at Coventry Mall, Routes 100 and 724; its Royersford store is located at 989 Township Line Rd.
